1996 Structural Engineering Compuer Exposition on May 8th

The Computer Applications Committee is pleased to announce that the 1996 Engineering Computer Exposition is right around the corner. The day long exposition will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 1996 at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn Union Square in San Francisco, California. This year's Expo features the latest developments in the ever-changing world of structural software and computing.

SEAONC's Expo is the region's only exhibition devoted to structural analysis, design and computer aided drafting (CAD) software. Because it happens only once every other year, this event is a "must-see" for engineers, managers, and principals who want to stay on top of the technological advances that are changing the way we work. The Expo traditionally draws about 20 exhibitors, and the following vendors have already indicated that they plan to attend: Computers and Structures, Inc., LateralPro Technology, Ram Analysis, Research Engineers, Inc., Risa Technologies, SC Solutions, Trus Joist MacMillan.

As an added attraction, this year's Expo is coupled with a special monthly dinner meeting titled "From KIPS to MIPS: Structural Engineering in the Age of the Information Superhighway". The Association will hold this special Wednesday dinner meeting in conjunction with the Expo on the penthouse floor of the Holiday Inn immediately following the exhibition. During the technical presentation, SEAONC guest speakers will discuss how computers, the Internet, and communications technology are shaping their firms and our profession, for better or for worse. Details of this special dinner meeting will appear in the May Newsletter.
