CALL FOR PAPERS and EXHIBITS: THIRD US-JAPAN CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE EARTHQUAKE PROGRAMS
The Third US-Japan Conference on Corporate Earthquake Programs will be held at the Alumni Conference Center, College of Engineering, San Jose State University, San Jose on November 5 - 7, 1996. The overall objective of this conference is to improve the status of corporate earthquake preparedness programs by bringing together risk managers, earthquake hazard reduction practitioners, and researchers, from both the private and public sectors. This conference will therefore facilitate technology transfer among the different individuals so that they can learn from each other, thus improving not only the state-of-the-art, but also the level of implementation of earthquake safety programs in the private sector. There will be special sessions devoted to the lessons from the Northridge Earthquake and the Hanshin-Awaji (Kobe) Earthquake. Exhibits of technical products that have been developed for earthquake hazard reduction are also planned.
Papers, from interested individuals, are solicited in one of the four topical areas: (1) Development of Hazard Reduction Technologies; (2) Education & Training of Employees in Earthquake Safety & Hazard Reduction; (3) Emergency Preparedness & Planning; (4) The Private Sector and Community Earthquake Safety. The deadline for receipt of one page (250 words maximum) abstracts is April 29, 1996. The deadline for the full length paper is August 30, 1995. Please send abstracts to the following address:
